This is Mike now...

I brought up a keyboard that I had lying around at home so now I can just practice from my room. Also, I think this site is pretty reliable with finding songs you're looking for:

Hello.
Well, I practiced again the other night and I have to say that ever since I printed out a song I knew (way too well) and figured it out, it really helped me start to understand everything a lot better. I first thought that it would acutally not help at all because I would just be doing it by ear, but instead I found myself matching up the sound with the name and placement of the note on the keyboard and I really feel like im starting to get it a lot better now. So...I will see how fluent I can be at this song, then probably try some normal, less frightening music.
but probably not.
because I like it.
haha.

p.s. I think im a lot better at piano than mike vogel.

thanks for the additional sheet music site

Hola!

I'm so glad you guys are posting. I love reading about everything! It's great that you're seeing yourselves progress, you've already come so far!

It's so hard to find good free sheet music online. I've had these sites recommended to me:

1001sheets.com
modernpianomusic.com

although I haven't used them myself. I generally try to type something like "free printable piano music ___" with the name of the song/artist/composer you're looking for. Hopefully that works for you, or we can take a look online when you're here.

High five!

practicing

today I practiced for a legitimate two hours or so in the piano room by myself working on the song "Mr. Curiosity" by Jason Mraz...this I've decided will be my project for the semester...to be able to play this full song

I just practiced teaching myself to play a little bit of the song "Drops of Jupiter" by Train...but I don't have the entire song printed out...just the first page...I didn't make it ridiculously far or anything, but just figured I'd let you know I started learning it.

Sheet Music

Where can we find free sheet music that won't destroy my computer or do we have to buy it?
